2008-2009: Samantha Gastley

Sam was one of the team captains for both fall and winter cheer seasons. She scored Elite status during both tryouts. As a backspot, base and flyer Sam was versatile and willing to perform in whatever capacity best suited the team.   Sam was a true leader of the squad and continually demonstrated dedication and commitment to the program and her team. Throughout the season Coach Bolt was repeatedly impressed with her initiative and leadership. Sam was a role model, both in and out of uniform, to her younger teammates and always represented her school, her sport and her self in a positive manner. Sam is attending the University of Maryland.

2009-2010: Payton Sexton

Payton was a team captain for the winter cheer season. She scored Elite during winter tryouts. As a main and side base Payton was known for making a stunt "hit", no matter what. She was a leader on the court and at practice. Payton worked very hard to perfect her cheerleading skills and performed each dance and chant with extreme sharpness and power. She was a role model to her teammates and showed intense dedication to her sport. Payton is attending Shepherd University where she is a member of the cheer team.

2010-2011: Christine Evans

Christine joined the program as a junior and had an instant impact on the team. Christine quickly learned how to perform every position- flyer, back spot, front spot and base. She was a superior role model to her fellow teammates and always positively represented the school and the MHS Cheer program. Christine was a quite force on the team and often offered suggestions and ideas. She stayed after school to help the JV team and helped during post season. She often helped her teammates  with their academics; Christine is a stellar athlete and student. She will graduate with highest honors and is a member of: National Honor Society, National English Honor Society and Senior Executive Board. Christine is attending Towson University.
